City of Alva Mayor

Mayor Kelly Parker

Term Ends: April 2027

Kelly Parker was born and raised in Alva, Oklahoma with family history in the area dating back to statehood.

The son of Marsha (McOsker) and Jerry Smith of Alva, and Darrell Parker of Cherokee. Kelly cherishes being able to live in his hometown with most of his family still residing in Woods and Alfalfa Counties.

He graduated from Alva High and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU) in Alva before getting his degree from Oklahoma State University in 2000.

Kelly met his wife, Lisa, while attending NWOSU. Kelly, Lisa and their two children, are members of the First Christian Church of Alva, the very place they were married in the summer of 1998. Kelly has served the church in many ways, including as a board member, deacon and elder among many other tasks within the church.

He has worked for Share Medical Center since 2006 and became the Director of The Homestead Independent Living Retirement Community in 2013. He truly has a passion for his job and the people he gets to work with and for, day-in and day-out.

Kelly is very involved with his family's activities. From dance recitals and vocal concerts to ball games and church camp. Kelly is just as apt to be coaching or leading his children as he is watching from the stands.

Behind only his family and his faith is his love for Alva. He has volunteered and served on countless committees, coalitions, task forces, advisory councils, commissions, and governing boards since 2006.

It is his service to organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, Woods County Coalition, the City of Alva Strategic Planning and Tourism Committees, and more that ties him so deeply to the hopes and dreams of Alva.

He's a proud Rowdy Ranger, a member of the Moose Lodge, and a Rotarian, helping with numerous community events including community tailgate parties, karaoke nights, and firework shows.

Kelly Parker is proud to be Alva's Mayor. He looks forward to continuing his service and leadership to his hometown.
